Welcome to Crossroad’s Kids (CK)– the children’s ministry of Crossroads Community Church! Check-In for all children, from birth through 5th grade, begins at 10:15 am. The check-in station is located just west of the main entrances (just a few steps!) Nursery and Preschool children are welcome to head straight back to their classrooms once they have checked in. Elementary classes participate in the first part of the worship service with their parents, and then are dismissed to their classes. Each class will have an awesome time of bible teaching, praise and worship, hands-on activities, and prayer on Sunday mornings.
Here’s a closer look at individual classroom criteria:
NURSERY (ages 3 months-2 years):
Infants: Nursery volunteers are strongly encouraged to pray over each child during class each week. The director provides several psalms that they can pray for them as well as a list of ideas for prayer. A large poster is hung up in the room that provides guidance to the Nursery team if they have some time to do the activities.
Toddlers: We will engage them with age appropriate activities and games that illustrate God’s love and truth using our My First Look posters. Each month, there is a specific bottom line or important message we want to repeat over and over.
PRESCHOOL(ages 3-5 yrs)
Children must be between ages of 3- 5 years and toilet trained.
Using the My First Look curriculum, we have a fun and innovative approach to ensuring that all preschoolers know: God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their friend forever. You can learn more about our curriculum and values by going to www.myfirstlook.org.
ELEMENTARY I (K-2nd grade) AND ELEMENTARY II (3rd-5th grade)
Elementary 1 and 2 have separate classrooms, but they do combine for our Power Up experience. Power Up is our interactive large group time designed to engage the heart of each child as they learn about a Bible story and worship together.
We use an engaging curriculum called 252Basics. Teaching the virtues of Christ, we want every Crossroads kid to grow up to have wisdom, faith and friendship with Christ and others. You can learn more about curriculum and values by going to www.252basics.org.
