Here are some of the most commonly asked questions from newcomers to Crossroads. If you have a question that you can’t find an answer to here, don’t hesitate to e-mail questions to our staff at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 620.229.8464.
What are your services like?
Our Sunday morning worship service offers practical, relevant bible-based messages in a relaxed, casual setting. We’ll usually have an extended time of music and worship (click here for a sample of some of our favorite songs), followed by the message and a chance at the end of the service for those who’d like to receive prayer. It’s also a Sunday morning priority to pray for other local churches and leaders (John 17).
What should I wear if I attend Crossroads?
When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, he proclaimed that true worshipers of the Father are to worship him “in spirit and in truth.” What he did not do is add a specific dress code. Along with many other biblical passages, that episode points to the fact that genuine worship is fundamentally a matter of the heart, not of outward appearances.
Most people who attend Crossroads dress in a fairly casual manner, and we invite you to feel the freedom to do the same.
How often do you celebrate communion?
The celebration of communion is an integral part of the life and worship of Crossroads. We typically celebrate communion once a month-on the first or second Sunday of the month. Communion is “open,” meaning you don’t have to be a regular Crossroads attender. Any Christ-follower, a person who’s chosen to follow Jesus and confess Him as Lord, is welcome to take part.
Where are you located?
We are located 1.5 miles south of Winfield’s Quail Ridge Golf Course on Pike Road (the old highway). From Winfield: head south on Highway 77, over the river to Quail Ridge Drive (just north of the Super 8 motel). Turn left on Quail Ridge and then make a quick right on Pike Road. (you’ll be driving right between the Super 8 and Comfort Inn Motels. We’re just 1.7 miles south on the right side of the road.
From Ark City: drive north on Highway 77. One mile north of Strother Field, turn right (east) on 202nd Road. Go approximately 1.5 miles and find the church on the right hand side of the road. Here’s the address to plug into your GPS: 9444 202nd Road, Winfield, KS 67156
What do you believe? You’ll find our statement of faith and an outline of our beliefs and doctrine here.
How do I get connected?
There are several great ways to connect with the Crossroads family…and to get started, just fill out a “Connect Card” found on the offering box in the back of the sanctuary.
• Small Groups- This is where life happens! Crossroads doesn’t hold any mid-week services, but instead we encourage you to get involved in small groups that meet in homes throughout the month. Some meet weekly, others twice a month – and the result is genuine connection and fellowship. It’s really impossible to “get to know” others in just a quick passing on Sunday mornings. Our small groups offer a place to make friends and grow together.
What do you do for Children and students?
We provide a full Children’s Ministry (Crossroad’s Kids- CK) during our weekly 10:30 AM service.
• Nursery (3 months – 2 years)
• Preschool (3 – 5 years)
• Elementary (one class for K-2nd grades and another for 3rd-5th)
- Is my child safe?
Your child is completely safe when coming to Crossroad’s Kids. Children are assigned a nametag and enrollment number.* Children are not allowed to be released to anyone other than their guardian. Your child’s name tag will also have your child’s special needs printed for the ministry leaders (i.e. food allergies). There are also safety procedures in place for possible inclement weather/disasters, and policies to protect children from abuse. To learn more about these policies, feel free to contact our children’s ministry director, Stacie @ 620.605.2500.
*Children’s ministry asks that families come at least five times before enrolling their child. To enroll, you’ll need to fill out a one-page enrollment form with your child’s name, and contact information. The form is available at the information desk in the Children’s wing.
- What if my child needs me during the service?
If we need to contact you, we will call you on your cell phone, or find you in the sanctuary.

What does “non-denominational” mean? Being a non-denominational Christian church simply means that we are not a member of a particular denomination such as Baptist, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Methodist, etc. Being non-denominational does not mean that we are anti-denominational or practice a different type of faith. Crossroads attracts people and families who simply believe in the Bible for answers to all the questions of life. The emphasis of the teaching, prayer, worship services, and our entire ministry is to provide hope to all people of all ages by pointing them towards a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
